Anonymous asked: are ldrs worth the effort? what are the ups and down and why is it worth it? do they work out?
Long distance relationship isn’t usually something people consciously seek since it’s definitely one of the hardest things to happen to you relationship wise.
For me it’s completely worth it because I am madly in love and the good moments are worth all of the suffering the distance between us causes.
The thing in LDRs is that the communication has to work or otherwise it’s probably not going to last. Complete honesty and trust is important. Sometimes words aren’t enough and in those moments the distance feels very frustrating, when everything you want is just to hold them and be there for them / physically. The sacrifices you have to make are bigger than in short distance relationships, you sacrifice your money, time, sleep, emotions, physical need for love…
When it comes to the upside of being miles apart, I think the biggest one is definitely that I appreciate her presence 100% constantly. I spent 9 days with her and I cherished it. You can’t take them for granted. Also it’s pretty clear you wouldn’t do all these sacrifices for a person you don’t truly love.
Do they work out?
I believe with communication, respect and love you can get through everything.
If it doesn’t last, it wasn’t meant to.
x hope I was useful my darling
